All Is Well!

Daddy's girl!

Afton sunbathing to fight off the jaundice.
She had to be hospitalized for 2 days to get the photo therapy.
I stayed with her the whole time and caught up on my sleep while
Josh and Grammy (Ayden calls her Granma) handled the boys at home.

I had to feed my two month craving for cupcakes,
so Ayden helped Grammy make some.

He loves watching things bake.

Two boys ready to tear into that dino-cake.

Laffy Affie loves her baths. Yes, she already has a nickname.
I'm not too thrilled about it, but it's already stuck.

Ayden has Grammy working hard on daily craft projects...

and Ian always wants to "wide da bus!"-the bench swing in our backyard.

Grammy and Paw-paw with their new little grandbaby.
Dad got here last night and we'll have him and mom both here for a week!
Right now I'm home with Afton while the boys, Josh, G & P are getting some energy out at the McDonalds Playland. How else would I be able to sit here for this long? It's so quiet!!

Somebody loves his little sister!

Happy Mother's Day To All

I know it's a day late, but we had a wild, busy Sunday. It's too good of a story to pass up, so get ready for a lengthy post.
I started out the morning excited for a "me" day and had the typical expectations of a perfect day ahead. The morning was a good one. Josh didn't have any meetings, so he was with us for a change and gave me the most thoughtful gifts. They were two "willow tree" figurines, one with a mom holding two boys just Ayden and Ian's sizes and another with a mom, dad and baby (for Afton, of course). I loved the gifts so much I cried-SURPRISE. This great morning soon turned sour at the end of our Sacrament meeting. Ian started crying toward the end (we only had about 5 minutes to go) so I had to leave with him. I left Ayden behind, but he somehow escaped and followed us to the bathroom. Ayden had to go poop, which ended up all over the back of his shirt-the shirt was big on him, and hung too low-and all over his back. As I'm trying to clean him up, Ian gets four brand new rolls of toilet paper, still in their wrapping, and stuffs them in one of the toilets. Robin gave me her house keys to get a shirt for Ayden, so I dropped Ian off to nursery-after washing everyone thoroughly of course-and took a shirtless Ayden with me to Aunt Robin's house. We found a shirt that matched great and went back to church. After one solid hour of mahem, it turned out to be a good day from then on out. We got home, ate a quick lunch and we all took a long nap. Then we headed to Robin & Brent's for a Mother's Day dinner that Josh and Brent cooked for us. Mimi was there too, and our friends Gerald and Paige joined in the fun. The dinner and the company was great, despite my irritability. I mean, I'm really trying to hold it all together, but this possibility of going into labor at any time is really starting to take it's toll on me. My mom is flying in late tonight. So seriously, kid, get born already. My next Doctor's visit is tomorrow morning. I HOPE I'm at 4cm and get admitted right away. I'm sure you'll hear from a dissapointed me tomorrow. I know it's only a week until my induction, but every night feels like an eternity.

My Special Mother - by Ayden Hutchinson

I'm guessing that Ayden's teacher had him answer a few questions
that filled in some blanks for this cute tribute to me:

My mother is the most wonderful mom in the world!
She is as pretty as a ladybug and smells like a flower.
She weighs 100 pounds and is 6 feet tall.
Her favorite food is broccoli.
In the good old days when Mom was little, she used to play with her baby doll.
I think Mom looks funny when she makes a funny face.
I know she's really angry when I get in trouble.
I wish Mom would go bike riding with me every day.
I wouldn't trade my mother for 100 Shrek toys.

To all you soon-to-be DADs out there...

With the birth of my first daughter coming any moment NOW, I've been thinking a lot about fatherhood and as usual feeling a bit apprehensive. Anyway, I always go back to one of my favorite bands when I need some reassurance. Better Than Ezra ROCKS my universe. I first heard this song a long time ago and I've often thought about the power of the lyrics. The lead singer (Kevin) wrote this song before the birth of his first son. It's so true what he says!! You'll never feel more ALIVE and CLOSER to this LIFE as you do when you become a father. And it will be truly the ONE thing that you both did perfectly. Enjoy your children while they're young! Suck up each fleeting moment. They truly do bring us CLOSER to HEAVEN.

This Little Piggy

Ayden's class performed their show "the Little Red Hen" again today at school.
He did a great job again. I got a little clip of my favorite part. Enjoy! I'm so glad he'll be in his BRAND NEW $20 million school next year. No more ghetto fabulous stage. Ick.

Some Numbers For You

Today's visit resulted in: 3cm/50%/-1, but close to zero. If you need a translation, let me know and I'll email you or something. The doc thinks I can make it about one more week. PS. I've lost 12 pounds since my diet started.

I'm 30. Let's Face It.

Since I was 30 on the 30th, Josh had a golden theme for the party.
Everyone was instructed to wear something gold and bring gifts either of gold or 30 things.
No one would claim this gift of 30 condoms.
Josh had a get to know Stacy trivia game.

We tried to get a picture of three two-year-olds. This was the result. These three are all 2 months apart. First Kate (top right), then Ian, then Calyn. How does Ian always manage to be in the middle?
The kids LOVED the slip n' slide. See our new swing set in the background?

Classic picture of Kota!

Brent had a fun 1979 trivia game for us. Check out his bling.
Gerald won best costume. He actually spray painted his and Paige's clothes gold.
On the back he had a big "30".

My golden arrangement from Meredith and fam.
Josh got really creative with the cake. The numbers add up to 30.

Thanks to Josh for a great birthday party,
and thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us!

"The Little Red Hen"-Saturday Phase 1

Too cool for school!

Playing in front of the Old State Capitol.

Say WHAT?

Ayden is the one in the middle. They are about to bow for the audience.

A nice refreshing sugar rush after 15 minutes of HEAT. Here comes summer.

Saturday was a very busy one for the Hutch fam. Ayden has a dance teacher that comes to his school once a week and they had a big performance in front of the Old State Capitol building to show off what they've been learning. I have video, but it's 15 minutes long, so you'll have to imagine Ayden shaking his head "no" every time the little red hen comes around and doing some spins, bows, etc...-He was a pig, hence the pink shirt that will never be worn again. I guess I can save it for Afton.-It was so fun to watch. His class is full of some CUTE KIDS! They'll be performing it again for his school on Thursday. It was HOT while we were in the direct sunlight, but the shade was nice and cool. The kids all had popsicles after the show. AHHH! Then we had to rush home to get the boys some rest before my big birthday bash. Post coming soon. Oh, and FYI, it's 3am. I am making good use of my insomnia, am I not?!
