I'll Never Catch Up

I'm a little overwhelmed with pictures and can't decide where to start updating our blog. By a "little" I mean I have about 250 pictures taken over the past two weeks. Whoa. And that's not including the pictures that will be taken tonight for trick-or-treating. Here's a teaser until I can figure out a game plan. We had a ward party Tuesday night with trunk-or-treating, a chili cook-off, cake walk, haunted house, games, and the bishopric sack race shown below. My sis, Dixie, filmed this and you'll see a quick glimpse of her hubby, Markus, standing next to me and the boys. Observe the Asian Princess in the background. She may or may not have peed on herself from laughing at her big bro. I'll never tell!

Fast Forward One Week!

I had my first doctor's visit today, and the sonogram says I'm 8 weeks along already! So, the due date is May 24th, and I had to find this week's size: kidney bean! So when you're eating your red beans and rice, think of my little bean growing inside. Toodles!

Baby At Seven Weeks

Ah, morning sickness!
Right about now Mommy's realizing she needs to clean the toilet a little better.
I'm seven weeks old and the whopping size of a blueberry!

Check This Out!-John Butler Trio-

Josh found this after listening to another song by John Butler. This guy bursts with passion. I cried through the whole thing because it tapped into the music I have bottled up inside. Travis, it made me think of you. You could totally jam with this guy, maybe even show him up!!

Here's the other song! It's a great "Living in the Moment" song. Just kick back and enjoy life as it is.

Halloween And Politics

I saw the googly eyes idea in "Parenting" magazine.
You get the paper mache boxes from Hobby Lobby (currently 50% off), spray paint them black, and glue the eyes all over. I used elmers glue and flat finish craft spray paint also from Hobby Lobby. The little ghosts were made with my Aunt Oddie. She came over with black construction paper and white tempura paint. The left one is Ian's hand and the right is Ayden's. It looks more like a ghost if you keep their fingers and thumb close together. When the paint dries, you cut out some circles and glue them on. I have a lot of those little hands and plan on stringing them on a cute spiderweb ribbon.
Ian's current passtime. He loves that rocket and fire hat!

Ayden was sitting with Josh in the living room and was listening in on the presidential elections being discussed on CNN. Out of nowhere, he said something about Sarah Palin. Then he listed all of the candidates. Naturally, I ran for the camera. Apparently there's been some discussion at school about the election. Enjoy! Oh, and notice how he corrects his order. I think Miss Vickers might be a republican.

The Baby's Size

Two weeks ago: the size of a poppy seed.

One week ago: a sesame seed

Today: a lentil bean

I get weekly updates from babycenter.com on the growth of our little embryo. This is the size comparisons they used. It's so fascinating to me that all kinds of technical things are going on in such a tiny amount of space. There are dark spots where the eyes and nostrils will be, little impressions where the ears will form, and tiny webbed hands and feet have already formed. The baby's brain is ticking and her heart is beating twice as fast as mine! Maybe this is why I am so tired and hungry and nautious all day. Those little cells are dividing like crazy.

Smiling Kids and Potatoes!

Ian thought our friend Jane's camera flash was hilarious,
which made some great pictures.
I'm so glad she caught this face he makes.
He'll say "Noooooooo" with his mouth shaped like that.
Show off those molars!
Ayden is super creative. I made potato salad and let them play with one of the "balls".
Later on, Ayden snuck the potato into his room and made it into a living potato head.
We were laughing so hard.
Is this a glimpse into Ayden's teenage years?
And here we have a closeup of Ayden's creation. Isn't it cute?
