Ayden on his soapbox.I finally started on the bathroom, as you can see. It really needs some work, so we're doing it. We are going to do stained concrete for the shower wall. It should be an adventure. We're going by what our friend Jimbo watched his friend do. Is that blind faith or what? We decided it would be easier than dealing with tiles. Right now we're waiting for the plumber to come change out the pipes, handle, etc... I'll keep updating the progress.
The other day I watched our neighbor's beautiful tree get chopped down. It was very sad, but at the same time, amazing to watch. I had Ayden and Ian with me across the street. There was a guy hanging in the tree and sawing down the big branches until they got it down to nothing but the trunk. The trunk alone stood higher than our house. When it fell to the ground, everything shook like an earthquake. Our neighbor had no choice in the matter. The roots were interfering with the pipes underground. We loved this tree. It was the biggest on our street. We used its branches to decorate our JEEP for our trunk or treat last Halloween. So long old friend. We will miss you. We didn't even mind your leaves all over our yard.

I am so excited that you are redoing your bathroom. Why? Because then I can pick your brain and we can do ours!! We have the popcorn ceiling too, but it's all coming off and it's just a mess. There are so many things I want to change...don't I wish I had the time and $$ to do it all! I can't wait to see your finished product. If you need help, holler!
Thanks for the offer. I don't really know what were getting ourselves into, but it's too late now! Once the plumber comes we can get down to business.
John and I scraped and refinished the ceilings in our house and I can honestly say I hope I never have to do it again. It was the messiest job and it kills your back. It gets crap all over everything. It's totally worth it and I understand you wanting to do it. You are saving at least $2000 doing it yourself. Good luck with everything! I'm sure it will look great when it's done!!
If we had popcorn ceilings I'd be doing the same thing. Your bathroom is starting to look like ours. Only ours have been unfinished for so long seems like. Good luck! No turning back now huh? Which bathroom??
I'm not going to be able to find your house anymore!!! That tree was my landmark:)
