This picture is out of order, but I'm not going to start all over with this blog. Read on, and pretend this picture is by the gate picture of Ayden.
I was waiting for mom to finish with her doctor's appointment in Boise (she got her staples taken out!) and decided to drive toward the mountains. Surely there would be some sort of park at the base of the mountains for the boys to get out and play. Lo and behold, we found this beautiful spot! It's an old penitentiary surrounded by botanical gardens. What a great prize for exercising a little spontaneity.
Bamboo in Idaho? This place has GOT to be breaking the water conservation rules.

A super cool gate we found.
I don't know what this tower was used for, but it looks serious. Maybe it was used to snipe out escape convicts! Oh, and that red Mustang is mom's. I've been having fun driving it.
Cool building. It had a plaque that read "1907".

Dad found this frame for mom for like a buck. Ayden has started liking to pose for pictures.

did you see the cliff (i can't remember what it's named) to the east of that penitentiary? you can go sit on the edge of it and look at the ENTIRE city. it really is an oasis in idaho. all those trees, who knows WHERE they came from??! boise's got all kinds of places to go see. lots of people and road construction too!

What a cool spot you've found....all of my awesome spots in Utah have been ruined by all of the dang people moving into it. What an oasis it used to be here and now everyone's found out. Oh well, sounds like you are having fun in Idaho with your boys. Way cool picture's!
