We spent the evening breaking in Robin & Brent's new couch, and watching a disappointing baseball game.
Results from the use of the manly gift.Josh's confidence in projects around the house has grown tremendously since we've been homeowners and he's had some experience building. Who knew a vent hood could add so much to a kitchen? He had to cut out plywood to replace the bottom of the cabinet to mount the vent hood. He also had to do the wiring, which had me quite nervous. I was ready to dial 911 for either lost limbs or electrocution. Thanks to Jimbo for moral support, and Gerald for the first attempt and eagerness to help with the second attempt.
I had the boys with me when I bought his gift and card. That can't happen again, because as soon as Josh got home on Friday Ayden said, "Daddy, we got you your yellow tools!" AND "Daddy, we got a goofy card for you!!" No surprise for daddy-o.
Now an ode to Joshua. You are the best dad any kid could ever wish for! You are an amazing husband, I can't brag enough. I read a card that said "You are my prince charming. Our fairy tale is coming true." (Well, I think it was worded better than that, but you get the idea.) It's so true. I love our life, and it keeps getting better. I love you!

I love how the "dads" in the top picture can completely block out the chaos going on around them!
P.S. I bet a million bucks Josh is talking on the phone to Aaron about that root canal!
He might have been!
Yay Josh! Your dad was a master, and you have his gift. Between you and Stacy, I bet you could build a whole house if you had the time.

I miss our deap intellectual conversations.
P.S. Does this blog stuff come with a spelling/grammar check? If so, let me know so I can stop making an embarassment out of my posts. Thank you in advance for anyone who gives a crap.
On my computer, you can right click what you've typed in, and there's an icon that says "spell check this field". Thanks for the sweet comments. Love ya!
Wow Josh, bring your yellow tools to Idaho, I want a copper backing. Nice homestead photo and barnwood background.Idaho living is rubbing off on you Stacy. You are visualizing an Idaho home made of stone, just a matter of time:o}
So since he used his manly gift to beautify your kitchen, you both got presents for father's day. cool strategy! :) no, really. Josh, you did a great job. i'm really impressed with both of your remodling abilities.
