Easter Adventures

We take pictures with Santa and the Easter Bunny every year, and up until this point, my kids have never freaked out. I was just bragging to Robin about this the minute before we had this experience. Poor Ian was so scared of that crazy bunny. Ayden and Kota took the sweetest picture, but it took us a lot of trial and nothing but error to get Ian happy. If you look closely, you'll see that Josh is holding him. The funny thing is that for 2 weeks Ian asked me all day, every day if he could go see the bunny at the mall with daddy. In fact, he just asked Josh this morning if the bunny was at the mall. Well, it's something we'll laugh at later, but I hope we didn't permanently scar our child.

The "real" Easter bunny came to our house on Saturday while Ayden and Ian took their naps. Josh leaves at 6:30am on Sunday mornings, so we thought it would be better that way. The bunny left clues all over our neighborhood, leading them to their Easter baskets-it's a tradition in my family that I'm keeping alive. The clues took them to our backyard, the creek at the end of our road, back to the front yard, then in our kitchen cabinets where lots of fun toys were waiting.
On the hunt.

A face like that is a sign of true success!

We got daddy good with Ayden's silly string!

I forgot how much fun a can of this stuff can be.

That's all for now.
Happy Easter!!

Looks like fun (well, not the crying because of the Easter bunny part). I like the idea of hunting for the basket. I might just have to steal that idea!

I love silly string- it is so much fun! It looks like you guys had a fun hunt courtesy of the Easter Bunny {who is apparently frightening in person! Poor 'E'!}

I can't wait for Peyton to be old enough to go on a hunt for his basket {and understand what's going on- he is oblivious to most things right now, including Chloe!}.

My Mom told me that one year my Grandma {or um, the Easter Bunny} tied string to all of the Easter baskets which led her and her sisters all through the house, inside and outside, up and down stairs, in and out of chair legs, etc. and they were instructed by the bunny to go and find their baskets.

Grandma gave them the end of the string and away they went. There were 4 of them {my Mom and her three sisters} each hunting all over the house for their hidden baskets.

She says that it took them a good part of the morning to unravel it all to find their personal basket of goodies!

I loved little Ian running as fast as he can- such excitement!

And what was the mega prize that Ayden was so stoked about?! That was the best expression ever. What a cute little guy!

The same things happens to us with the Easter Bunny. For days, we talk about the Easter Bunny and get pumped up. Then, as soon as the Bunny is in sight, the clawing, screaming, and crying commences. I guess a human sized rabbit is just a little more than some toddlers can handle.

Lexi, the prize was a bubble wand. Go figure. The cheap toys are always the best.

Yeah Easter Hunt! Fun, fun. That mall bunny IS scary! Oh well. Ian won't remember, don't fret. They all still look so cute, and so does Josh's arm and hand. I love the use of the swinging elbow for extra propulsion, IT WORKS! Ayden looks so tall standing next to you guys. He's growing like a weed in a Louisiana front yard.

Oh, poor Ian, feel the pain, that big hand adds some comfort, Ian that one arm swinging more with speed-too cute, glad you are keeping the tradition!
