BTE

I took Josh to see Better Than Ezra in concert at the Varsity last Friday night. He took me to see them for my 17th birthday at the UNO Lakefront Arena, so I decided to return the favor. We put the kids to bed at 8pm and Robin came to babysit while we relived our youth for a night. We were both wondering how the concert would go, since BTE has been around for a while and the band members are a little past their prime. NOT SO!! They put on a show, let me tell you. We were in the "mosh pit" only three people back from the stage. It was so awesome. The lead singer would stop in the middle of their songs and talk to the crowd and crack jokes-funny jokes-then start right back into the song with crazy bluesy scatting and falsetto voice play. He was hilarious. The bassist is actually Josh's supervisor's husband, so it was neat to watch him do his thing. In the end, we felt like a couple of lovestruck teenagers again. I'm so glad we broke away from our parental routine and did something out of the ordinary for one night. Happy birthday again, Josh.
Love,
Stacy

*They played one of our favorites, "A Lifetime". Talk about a blast from the past. Oh, how I miss the innocence. ROCK ON BTE!!! It's neat that they formed while attending LSU. Some local boys with a lot of PIZAZZ.

Good for you! The secret to youth is being the eternal 15 yr old. They had a mosh pit at BTE? I dont think that word means what you think it means. Did they have a wall of death? That is allways fun too. Im glad you guys had a good time together.

That's special. What will you do next?

Travis, it was by no means the kind of mosh pit you're thinking of;) It has mosh pit potential-if that sort of band were playing-which is why I used the quotations. No wall of death either. This would have in no way helped you relive your teens!
Mom, I don't know what's next, but we might start a babysitting switch off with Robin and Brent to be able to do things like this more often.

Ah, Better Than Ezra...brings back many memories of Hutch singing "Desperately wanting" as we biked down alley ways.

Speaking of music, isn't it funny that Robert Burns wrote Sweet Afton and Chloe's Passion? He wrote something for both our girls! ;-)

And the concert sounded awesome! Glad you had fun and were able to get away for a bit.

Are you guys going to be home next weekend? We might try to drive to New Orleans and would love to see you!

Did you two make out on the couch for hours when you got home? I hope so.

This sounds like so much fun!
