Saturday was a perfect day, so we soaked up the sun as much as humanly possible. It's so awesome to finally see everyone coming out of hibernation. Catching rays is near the top of my priority list for inner peace. Anyway, we went on a brisk walk with Josh pushing the two younger kids in the double jogger and Ayden riding his bike alongside. For the past two weeks Ayden has been begging to get his training wheels taken off, but I had to keep telling him that mom & dad BOTH had to be home to do that and his much anticipated moment finally came! After our walk, Josh took off the training wheels and taught Ayden how to ride his bike. I had the video camera and the regular camera both going to catch this memory as best as I could. We were a little hesitant, b/c we didn't want him splitting his chin back open, but he didn't fall once! He would giggle to himself while he peddled down the street and he would shout "Whoo-HOO!" every so often. He was elated! We were too. Josh had to move his seat and handlebars up too. He's getting so tall and so mature. We love this guy so much!
That was all just in the morning. The rest of the day was filled with outdoor activity too. I went to a friend's baby shower at the park, then as soon as I got home we headed out to visit with our good friends, the Wesley's. Mark had all of his toys out for us to play with at his parents' house: 4 wheeler, golf cart with a trailer hitched to the back, and oversized super speedy r/c vehicles. We lived it up Livingston Parish style!! We stayed outside until the skeeters started bitin', then we went and pigged out at El Rancho. YUMMY! The outdoor adventures didn't stop there. On Sunday we drove to Alexandria to see our good friends/sort-of-in-laws, the Mangums, bless their new little baby, Logan. They had a big barbecue in their backyard afterward, so we enjoyed super great company and that awesome weather some more. I'm so glad we caught that sun when we did b/c guess what: IT'S RAINING AGAIN! I'm so over this. Watch. Tonight it will get cold again and we'll have to turn the heaters back on. Lame.

it's still cold here, but not so cold you need a coat outside (unless the wind blows then HECK YEA). it is cold enough for a heater at night, 65 inside during the day, BUT it is "warm" enough to keep melting the snow (like high 30's today).
Yeah for spring coming soon!
hey that is awesome about the bike riding--brave, considering his chin was just busted up! i would have been like, "uh, nope, not today." hahaha. did you know i love the name Ayden and I love the name Ian. Ian is one of the top names we are considering for our baby. Do you have any other boy names that you'd like to share with me???? I need some HELP!!
Good job Ayden! that is a big milestone in growing up.
Way to go Ayden! We just took Kaiden's training wheels off two weekends ago and he also did great!
Me and the kiddos were outside so much this weekend and it was so sad to be stuck inside today. :( I just want spring to come and stay!
Yay Ayden! There's no stopping all the adventures you'll get up to now with your new bike skills!
Get ready for a lot more busted chins, Stace! Remember all the scabs and bruises we used to be COVERED in? LOL, I miss being a kid! Good job, Ayden! You've got to be the coolest big brother EVER! As for our weather...typical clouds...no rain, and humid, but we don't mind AT ALL!! I'm assuming that you've heard we're finally back in Portland, right?
hey i've seen that name generator thing on babycenter--pretty neat. so Reece is one of my FAVORITES that i suggested for jase, but my hubby VETOED it right off the bat. (lame). I also love Mason. But if you pair that with my last name (not going to type it in here for privacy reasons) it is QUITE the mouthful, so that's out. I do like Evan. That's cute. But again, kind of hard to say with our last name. ARGH! Why are names so dang hard?????????? hahaha
CONGRATULATIONS AYDEN!!!! That's so cute how he giggled and Whooped it up all by himself. I can't believe how easy it was for him. He's an athlete. GO AYDEN!!! Bike's are the BEST!!! Good luck keeping up Mom and Dad!! Poor Ian, though! Twaining weaws be GONE!!! It won't be long. I love how Afton is an herbivore. It's fun trying out nature's tasties. Dandelions are great in salad!! Clovers bring good luck. Eat up!!
