Bon Voyage!

We've had an adventurous few days to say the least. For starters, Ian is 10 months old now, and he's in the process of cutting his first tooth! Our adventure started Wednesday of last week (I think, the days are all running together for me). Starting Thursday, we've been to the doctor for either Ayden or Ian 4 days, the HOSPITAL 24 hours and we've had steroids, antibiotics and an at home nebulizer prescribed. The diagnoses: Ayden-Asthma; Ian-RSV Bronchiolitus, although I think they BOTH had RSV and Ian caught it from Ayden. Ian is the one who was admitted to the hospital. We just got home this morning and he's doing a lot better. Good enough that we're okay to go on the cruise. We're leaving tomorrow with our nebulizer, inhaler, humidifier, clarinex, singulair, and don't forget the DRAMAMINE for mommy! Wish us luck. I plan on enjoying myself, no matter what it takes!

GOOD LUCK. We are going on a cruise in May...we will avoid the sickness though.

is that why your chrismas tree was on your porch this morning?

Yes, just in case it was making their breathing worse. We'll be getting a fake one for next year, although I just heard that they, along with Christmas light wiring, contain LEAD!

well, as long as the boys don't eat the tree, shouldn't lead in them be okay?
i am still a bit fuzzy on the lead issue.

i hope everyone starts to feel great and that you guys have a wonderful cruise!

Yes, as long as the plastic isn't crumbling, or your kids aren't mucnching on it, you'll be fine. Same with the lights, but you are supposed to wear gloves when handling them or wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Like anybody's going to do that!

Thank goodness for modern medicine! Now you can remedy the situation instead have having your whole trip completely postponed. I'm sorry the boys were feeling crummy- that's scary that Ian had to go to the hospital! Hopefully the excitement of doing something new and the joy of Christmas will ease any anxiety on their part (and yours!) Have a great time!
