Slowly Climbing Back Down the Scale

With this cruise coming up I decided a few weeks ago that I needed to shed some lbs. I know myself too well, which means I can't stick to any diets or keep an exercise routine. Well, I found an easy solution. All I'm doing is cutting back on my portions. I can eat anything I want, but less. Doing this made me naturally start choosing more wisely too. I haven't had a burger in a long time. I did have one break from my diet the other day when I ate an entire Sonic chili and cheese coney. Other than that, I've been a good girl. We don't own a scale, so I haven't been weighing myself until last night. I was at my friend Helen's house (watching "Hairspray" which is an AWESOME movie) and used her scale. I got so excited, because according to her scale, I've lost 7 pounds!!! I still have 15 pounds to lose to be back to my pre-marriage weight, and I fully plan on getting there! Rock on, people! Oh, and I called Helen today just to make sure her scale is accurate, and she said she's pretty sure she would notice if her own weight was 7 pounds off. Wouldn't we all?

Pre-marriage weight?! Are you kidding me? I was 135 before I married Troy and now I'm stuck at 150 AFTER a baby even with exercising 5 days a week! That's impressive!

You look great, and you'll be in better shape than me because I'm not working on my muscles other than lifting these boys and shopping at the mall for cardio. PLUS, having muscles makes you weigh more. I really do need to do some crunches. I just really don't want to.

crunches...the devil's exercise!

that is great that you've lost 7 lbs. i have no idea what i weigh, nor do i want to know, really, because i know it is TOO MUCH!
good luck sticking to your plan...oh, and is your cruise just an adult cruise, or kids, too? that is fun that you guys are doing that.

There's 18 of us going: kids and all! It's Josh's mom's family. His grandparents paid for all of us to go. I never weigh myself either. The last time I did was the weekend before Thanksgiving and last night was my big surprise!

That is a great idea for loosing weight! I've never been able to stick to a diet either, but maybe I could just cut back on my portions. At least I am eating more fruits and veggies with the kids around - thank goodness my kids love fruits and veggies or we'd never have them!

Doesn't it feel good when your clothes fit a little looser? I finally packed away all my maternity clothes. If they were out, I'd wear them. I felt like I lost 10 pounds instantly. Cutting back portions works! I'll get the kids meals at fast food joints...they're half the fat and calories of adult meals.
