Afton Jr.

Can a baby get any cuter? Not in our opinion, but we are a little biased. We have a good friend who has a studio and he took some GREAT pictures of Afton. This one is one of my favorites. I chose to share it because it has sentimental value. She's wearing her blessing gown that my mom made for her. I'm a sucker for eyelets! The bonnet is even more special because it was her great grandmother, Afton's. We're not sure how old it is. It could have been Afton's when she was born in 1919, or it could have been made in the 50s when my mom and her siblings were little. Either way this bonnet is an awesome heirloom, and I have two others and some cute salmon colored booties. You should see the detail on it. I've never seen patterns like it, and some "older" ladies at church who know a lot about crocheting were marveling over it on Sunday. Anyway, my mom found these treasures in a closet that she is sure was empty when she searched it before. She says that her mom, Afton made sure they stayed hidden until little Afton Jr. came to the world! I personally don't believe in coincidences.

She is absolutley darling. I love the picture! And I don't think it's a coincidence either that your Mom found the bonnet that didn't seem to previously be there. I got goosebumps when I read that! What a pretty baby girl. I know you are loving dolling her up- I am having such fun with my own little girl! :-)

That is a great history in those hats and such. And the picture is a bit old fashioned looking (not a bad thing, btw) to me, so it is perfect that she has her great grands bonnet on.
