My friend Jessica has converted to cloth diapering and I MIGHT take the plunge. I don't like spending $40 every couple of weeks and I feel guilty about all of those diapers piling up in a landfill somewhere (come to think of it, I feel guilty not even knowing where our landfill is located). So, I'm watching her blog to see how she's doing with CDing, and I'll make the decision soon. I also have to talk to Josh about it, because he'll have to learn how to change these things too. These "Fuzzibunz" are pretty cute and trendy looking, and I can color coordinate them with Afton's outfits. Who knew that cloth diapering could be a fashion statement? We'll see.

I'm going to use cloth diapers for my kid too. You'll have to let me know how it all goes.
uh, good luck with that! I'm sure the products have improved, but I remember when I was 9 and Robin was born, mom switched to using those for Robin because Matt was also in diapers and it was very expensive for both of them.
I just remember having to hold the end of the diaper while I swished the diaper all in the toilet trying to get all the poop off. It was terribly disgusting! I hope they have improved the cleaning process...
There are tons of adorable sites out there that sell super cute diapers...and then there are some diapers that need covers and the covers are even cuter! So far I have 3 CD's, with 3 more on the way. My friend Megan says she uses 6 a day and throws them in the wash at night. She also has 70 (seriously) diapers, so it does not matter...me, there is NO WAY I will have that many. She's won some, reviewed some, and bought some.
I will be giving away at least one more CD.
My friend says you don't have to swish poop, just shake out the grossness, do a prewash and wash and they are clean as can be.
if i hadn't had to go back to work, we would have cloth diapered. i don't think daycare would have gone for it.
DON'T DO IT!!! That's me yelling can you tell?!
Save your sanity and time and just stick with disposable. Christ will return before we have to worry about the environment:)
P.S. For the environmentalist(s) who may be reading this comment, I do try and recycle when it is so convenient I just can't ignore it. Other than that, I don't lose sleep if I throw plastic, or diapers, or any other recyclable materials in with the regular trash.
Uh, I'm with Robin. Afton's diaper usage will dwindle as she gets older. Cloth diapers? That's just crazy talk. Think about it, really. If you're out in public, you have to CARRY AROUND POOPY diapers until you get home. I think you'd just end up going back to disposables.
You are brave for even thinking about it. do what you will i could never be a cloth diaper momma. that just sounds like alot more work.
Its called Green hell! Try to save a landfill, waste water cleaning the things. guilty shmilty. Dont let Al Gore run your life.
Go for it Stacy!!! I would love to know how it goes. It is something we have talked about, but I have never been brave enough to do.
