Halloween Sneak Peak

We've decided to have a family theme again this year. Ayden will be Batman, Ian is Robin, Afton and I will be bats, and Josh will be The Penguin. I took these pictures with Afton on my hip, so please forgive the quality, but you get the idea. I made her wings and ears from crepe paper and floral wire. I got the idea HERE except I used hot glue because I couldn't find a glue stick. You can NOT use Elmers glue on the crepe paper. I learned the hard way, that the wet glue turns the paper into black gooey mush. I bought black elastic to fit the wings on her "back pack" style. The ears are safety pinned to her black headband I made from knee highs. What you can't see, are her chubby legs in black stockings with black platinum Mary Janes. She's a doll! I can't wait to show her off. I'm making THIS for myself and I have a cool bat shirt. Josh will just wear his black suit and I'll make a purple bowtie and get a top hat. Only one week left until the big day!!! I love Halloween.

You're so awesome Stace. I love seeing the stuff you do. Afton looks great! I wish I was closer so you could motivate me to do arts and crafts too. I've just been lame lately. I bought Chloe's outfit!

That's one chubby little bat:) she looks adorable. When I clicked in the link for your costume I thought I was going to see Halle berry in her sexy cat outfit or uma in her poison ivy. Guess you aren't feelin that?? Haha!!

Go Stac, if you entered a costume contest as a fam you would place right up there in the bellfree. The batty headband is cleaver, I wanna see chubby Afton's whole body in outfit. Hope you do a fam photo. By the way we found a pic of mom while cleaning house when she was a sophmore in hs. Marilyn is making a copy, then I'll see to it you kids get one, 1935ish - so cute of her and the real sepia.

Here is a tutorial to make a top hat for Josh, from my favorite crafting/DIY website:

It is actually for the Mad Hatter form Alice in Wonderland, but you can adjust as you need for The Penguine.
