My Grocery List

Ayden is learning so fast this school year. Today he heard me saying that we needed groceries, so he made me a list all on his own. The first list was eggs, milk, cheese, peanuts, and grapes. The second was eggs, cheese, milk, ?ros?, my name, his name, and more peanuts (funny that he wants what he's deathly allergic to and NO, he doesn't want a penis, you perverts!). He just finished his first nine weeks of school, and has come a long way since the end of his pre-k year. I have to admit that I didn't teach him much at all over the summer because of our family expansion. I'm so glad he's loving school and learning from his teachers. Just yesterday his classroom got 3 brand new flat screen computers. They were hooked up because one of his classmates has a mom & grandma who work in the schoolboard office! The computer thing is strange for me, because I didn't use computers in school until my senior year of high school. I'm too old! I still say "roll down the window" when all you do is push a button. I'm curious, what are some things that make you realize that you're getting older?

I can't believe Ayden's list. That is amazing. He has grown up so fast! I never thought I would see leggings coming back in style. Those were my favorite things in Elementary school and I refuse to wear them just for that reason!

I always feel old when I realize that toddlers I babysat in high school are now graduating high school and offering to babysit my kids!

That's really cool that he is liking learning so much. Good job Ayden.

I allways think that Im still college age, until I see college age kids, and they look like babies.

Awesome list!! And I only thought of penis after you said it!! ;)

I am loving the weekly progress that Elodie is making! It's amazing!! I've been posting her weekly class/homework and I have enjoyed so much seeing her improvements!! Such a fun age!

Oh and I felt old going to Elodie's parent/teacher conference. I vividly remember getting my first progress report in elementary school. Elodie's teacher was talking about spelling test they will be starting and that is so clear in my head....I feel like it was yesterday for me!!!

I immediately noticed peenus. Hahaha! Call me perverted, yes you may. Very impressive list Ayden! I'm glad you like school so much.

To Stace: Seeing children with cell phones makes me feel old. I always think, 'hey, what do you think you're doing with that? I didn't have one until my third year in college you little punk!'

I love Ay's writing! So cute.

Hmmm, let's see. I feel old when the teenage grocery store clerk looks at me and calls me 'Maam'. Do I look like a 'Maam' to you? I'm only 10 years older than you! :-)

Stacy,

First I want to just be snarky and say: "Gasp!! Ayden is having a good experience in an EBRP PUBLIC school??? How can that be??" :)

Second, SOOO many things make me feel old. Here are a few:

1. Looking in the mirror and finding gray hairs. I don't mind the gray color. I really don't. But why do they have to be short and course and stick straight out or up?? That part I don't love.

2. Dropping off Kennedy on Friday night for her first babysitting gig.

3. Looking at Sunbeams at church and thinking that the kids look little compared to mine.

4. Knowing that I will have a teenager in a a few months.

5. Knowing that our 17th wedding anniversary is just two months away

6. Falling asleep in the car tonight while waiting to pick up Kennedy from her french horn lesson. It was 7:45 p.m., people.

OK - that's enough for tonight.
