I Spoke Too Soon

Saturday was another good day for our family. Josh was still weak-day number 8 of the flu for him- and coughing A LOT but we didn't let that get us down. In the morning, we unrolled the couch bed and snuggled up to watch "Despicable Me". It took a lot for me to force myself to sit for that amount of time, but it was a much needed rest and great quality time with my sweet family. Later on that day we went to a birthday party, then hung out the rest of the afternoon. I was planning on taking the kids to church the next morning and Josh was going to stay home and cough up his lungs in peace. Welllllll, Afton decided that she wants us to go officially inactive and threw up ALL NIGHT. Don't you just love doing laundry and bathing kids in the middle of the night? It's so much fun! You should try it. So, we all stayed home. Again. Afton threw up all day Sunday. Thank goodness we have tile and wood floors or I'd be ripping up some carpet and throwing it to the curb. The boys are still okay, but I'm anxiously preparing for us all to start the vomiting. Afton was okay all day Monday and was able to keep food down, but this morning she was at it again, just when I was FINALLY ready to start walking with my walking buddies again. I should know better than to get my hopes up for ANYTHING during the winter months. On the up side, the medicine that Afton has been on has kept her lungs healthy through all of this mess. NO HOSPITAL VISITS. YAY!! However, I shouldn't jinx myself there either. Anyway, I feel like all that I post about lately is how sick my kids are, but that's what's going on, so that's the news you get. We had the sweetest people from church bring dinner for us last night. I cried when they called and said they were bringing over taco soup, homemade bread and brownies. I love nice thoughtful people. Dinner was delicious, and it tasted even better b/c I didn't have to cook it! We are not alone with the sickies. Robin & Brent have been suffering over at their house too with almost all of the same symptoms.

The flu, a bad cold, and a stomach virus are all hopping around our area, so do yourself a favor and stay away from everyone! Later folks. Think germ free thoughts!
