Today I took Ian with me to the OBGYN. We took our old stroller out of the attic because I won't need the double stroller for a while and we had to retire the umbrella stroller. Ian loves having this "new" stroller. It has a bug screen which makes him feel like he's in a fort. He stayed in there throughout the entire visit! He had fun smashing his face on the screen, playing peek-a boo, and I kept handing him toys to keep him busy. His hair was all over the place from the static, so I had a good laugh from that, too. Baby Afton is doing well, by the way.
Now on to my "good people" story. This morning I stopped at Hi-Nabor (a small locally owned grocery store) to get breakfast. After the food was prepared and I brought it to the front registers, I realized that I didn't have my wallet. I had no cash either. The cashier lady got out her debit card, walked around the counter and payed for my meal! I couldn't believe it! I told her I would come back to pay her back, but she said not to worry about it. I've been feeling all warm and fuzzy all morning because of her, and I'm sure she has many blessings coming her way for being such a sweetheart. Cheers to you, Ginger!

I love Ian's 'bug screen'! It looks like it WOULD be a blast in there.
Don't you love it when you find that there are still good people in the world?
I once went grocery shopping and had a similar experience- I had the exact amount I needed in cash on me. I had carefully gotten all of the things I needed within my budget and got to the counter and realized that I must have dropped a $5 somewhere along the way in the store.
The lady behind me told the cashier to add it to her things and told me to 'Pay it Forward just like the movie'. So I did! I was so grateful for that extra little bit as I'm sure you were with two boys in tote.
What a nice for her thing to do! That would make my week!
Glad to hear baby Afton is doing well. Is she climbing the walls in there yet?
I go see how my jelly bean is doing next week! Hopefully they'll schedule that dang ultra sound then! Geez! I'm so excited!
She's dancing around like crazy! Man, you HAVE to find out SOON!
that's SWEET! i have similar grocery store stories, but it's only 5 or 8 cents that i needed...glad to hear afton is doing fine, growing like a weed!!
p.s. you can't even begin to imagine how many cute little puppies and adult dogs are going to be running around, freshly groomed w/ little buggy bows on their collars and in their fur!!! YAY!
Now that's a good idea!
Cute Ian enjoying his "new" stroller. Attic recycling is great, right along with Deseray (DI). Ayden and Jack ejoyed that bike and dirt loader thingy last spring.
Ginger felt good too I'm sure, helping out the PG gal with big boy babe.
We did a (very cheap) Ginger Fuzzy thing today too. We ran into 4 missionaries at the eatery at Costco today. We had a hunch they were having the cheap lunch ( foot long hotdog and drink)--- We bought for all of them! All 6 dollars worth. We haven't had missionaries to our home for meals in a long time. Fed them cheaper than we probably could have at home --- so that was a win-win-win. Gotta get them over to the house soon.
For the past 4 years-maybe more-we could only feed the missionaries if we had an investigator at the house. We used to feed them every Tuesday night until that STUPID rule (don't tell Ayden I used that naughty word). Really though. Louisiana is all about food, and that's how people here socialize. The poor missionaries would say that this rule was going worldwide, but they were just kidding themselves. This mission suffered because none of the members even knew the missionaries-Josh knew them all, because he made an effort. Luckily now we have a Mission Pres. with some sense in his brain, and we can feed them again. Once a week won't be happening, but we'll feed them soon. Anyone who can do it, SHOULD! The poor guys are starving. Yeah right.
They so broke the rules at our home, probably averaged once a week seeing the elders. I wanted you kids to rub elbows with them alot. We had some special experiences come out of it too. Some hilarious. Oh, we had investigators alot too, along with lots of meals, big pieces of watermelon on hot days - 1 or 2 green meals, the Holiness Holloway Trick, playing Nitendo on Pday, Glenn using baby Nikki as a weight lift. They used our kitchen close to Christmas time to make rice krispie treats for in-vest-i-GATORS [humm just made an interesting word,(gators in vests, road show idea there Stac)], young Dixie had one of her first spiritual experiences that day, etc, etc, I am rambling.
I don't remember my first spiritual experience?? Interesting.
Yes, loads of good people still walk the earth. It's nice to run into them once and a while.
