We have a poll on our sidebar to the right. Please help us decide how we should spell our little girl's name. We're naming her after my grandmother, Afton, but we might change the spelling for a fun twist. If you want to explain why you think we should spell it a certain way, leave a comment.

Afton, definitely! Sometimes it's fun to be "different", but it gets kind of annoying when people predictably misspell your name all the time (Erica instead of Erika) which I'm sure you can sympathize with (Stacy vs. Stacey). Plus, since you're naming her after your grandmother it think you should stick with the original spelling. I think this was a neat idea, to open it up to all your friends and family for a vote.
I'm a fan of "en" names hence our little girls...Ashlen and Loren. But I also think that Aftyn is ultra girly. But I do kinda agree with the above (about keeping it original for your G-ma) too. I dunno, I can't commit. Any way you do it is an awesome name!!!
I say spell it the way your grandmother did if it is after her.
I like the way your grandmother spelled it, but a close 2nd would be Aftyn :) Good Luck!
While I think you should stick with the original spelling in honor of your grandma, I chose AFTYN because I think the Y makes it more feminine. Plus you used a Y in Ayden's name so it would make sense to do the same with one of your other kids.
dad says no to changing the spelling.your grandmother AFTON was the most awsome woman next to your mom i've ever known.if your naming our new precious little grandaughter afton to honor her, spell it the same and i promise you she will grow up to be just as awsome as her namesake was love ya,dad.
All the spellings other than Afton look like fake names to me.
Definitely think you should keep the original spelling. For all the above reasons, and also because Grandma told me that's what you should do:)
I like the original too. Don't mess with a good thing, right? ;-)
Afton is exotic enough. Spell it right, damnit!
I like the original. At first I favored the spelling with a Y, but something about having no offical vowel besides the A started to change my mind. The Y makes it more feminine, but I prefer the original.
Mom says---Wait til she is old enough and let her make the decision--doesn't cost that much anyway to make a change, just confusion for awhile or forever. Most of my girls started toying around with their names (about 12yrs old)---going by middle names etc, Chawwwndra, Stacey, Stacie, ycatS, LaPriel, Niki, Nikki, Nikky, never Pamela, Pam, Pammi. I kinda like Lorna, Anrol, Lori, Lo
